Listed as "USED" because because it is pre-owned, but condition-wise it might as well be described "NEW."

Offered in this listing is an early style Martin Backpacker travel guitar.  It has a serial number of 118,XXX and is in the original style with a small headstock and the name near the soundhole.  I have read that this style is from before 2003, but will leave it to those with a better grip on the dating of these to decide.  I bought it recently for my sons but they prefer to stick to electric.

I hate to use words like mint, but it looks flawless and unused.  It could use new strings, as it was likely never played by the prior owner and sat neglected for years.  The action is high for my taste but good for fingerpicking.  It could use a setup if you prefer it lower.  I was shocked by the high quality of the fit and finish of the fret ends and small details, given the original price point for the guitar.  I guess I should not have been surprised, though, as Martin was willing to put their name on it, after all.  Original Martin brand strap included.  There is no case or gig bag, but it will be very well packed for safety in transit.  It is my understanding that padded bags, both Martin and by other makers, are available at a reasonable cost.
