Yaesu RF u-Tune* filters, pronounced "Mu-Tune", are the most advanced and selective receiver front-end preselector filters ever made available for Amateur Radio transceivers. Adding ultra-sharp selectivity, these devices dramatically enhance the receive performance of compatible Yaesu transceivers. The receiver front-end pass band provided by Yaesu RF Mu-Tune Preselector is an amazing 10 to 30 kHz, depending upon band. This can be of tremendous value in ensuring clear and quiet reception on crowded bands, especially during contest and DX operations.

Any or all of the connected optional RF Mu-Tune Preselectors automatically adjust to your operating frequency. Especially useful on low bands where strong signals are often adjacent to the desired weak signals, the high Q and shape factor of permeability-tuning was used successfully in many classic Yaesu transceivers. The advanced circuit design and ultra-high quality components of these modern Mu-Tune units narrows the front-end pass band to only a couple dozen kilohertz. Providing interference rejection significantly better than the transceivers standard VRF (Variable Response Filter) preselector, Mu-Tune can also be manually adjusted to provide additional relief from near frequency interference.
