This is a vintage patent stamp GOLD T-Top Gibson PAF humbucker.
This example came from the Tone Specific collection of vintage pickups used for R&D purposes that we used to create our line of pickups. The customer we acquired this from claims it came stock in the bridge on an early 80s Les Paul that also had a Tim Shaw in the Neck.
The stamp is consistent with late 70s Patent Stamp pickups but the four digit year is a little blurred. It looks like it could be 1978.
These pickups compare quite well to the vintage PAFs that sell for thousands. They are not better or worse, they are just different. Many players actually prefer these.
it reads 7.4K and has a 6" lead wire.
