TASCAM DA-P1 DAT - WORKING

Device is working, and video shows this.

The original PSU is missing and the battery is untested and not charged, but is included.

The original PSU is extremely rare as well as the connector used by Tascam. 

So I had to add a connector and another PSU.

You'll see it in the photos.

Unfortunately the power connector and cabling can't be integrated. It's DYI / fixing an relic as best as possible with zero genuine spare parts.

The motor's belt has been replaced.

The original one (black) and a spare belt (white) are in a zip bag if needed.

FYI the white belt is actually a dentist braces band!
Some on ebay sell it as 'genuine part' and for a premium!

My dentist gave them to me for free, but you can buy a bag of 10 for £5.

Also cleaned-up/removed almost all of the original rubber coating which melted and became sticky over the years.

However it was not possible to remove absolutely everything, so there could be a bit of sticky feeling in some edges around the cover parts. Nothing dramatic at all, it can be removed easily with Isopropyl alcool.

Most markings have disappeared over the years unfortunately, but PDFs are findable online.
