Welsh Mountain Sheep are one of the oldest sheep breeds
in the world, with references to the breed found in the literature
of the Middle Ages.
It is still as important today for modern agriculture as any other
breed, they are the foundation stone of the sheep industry in
Wales. They are an economical and hardy breed, are good grazers
and the ewes make excellent mothers and are protective of their lambs.
Other advantages are that they are relatively inexpensive to purchase,
they lamb outdoors easily and they require little additional feed which
equals Low Input - High Output
This figurine from 2002 was a part of the very successful sheep breeds
series by Lesley McKenzie, this particular Ram is one of the lesser lights,
not in terms of quality, but that it is not often seen. It is in good condition,
no damage, clean and fresh in appearance. I have a good and richly
varied collection of figurines on Ebay, they cover all the interest areas, something
to cater for all BFAs tastes, please browse through them and thanks for looking.
