Vintage Scuba Sekonic MARINE METER - exposure meters for photographers

Early underwater photographers faced a myriad of difficulties. One was measuring available light.
Long before digital or even electronic cameras, this Sekonic Marine Meter was recognized as the best available for Underwater use.
Many professional photographers used it & some still do! Jim & Cathy Church praised this meter as a must have for good U/W Photography!

Sekonic's earlier L-86 meter had proven so popular that Nikon had made an underwater case for it.
So Sekonic engineers made this meter - the Marine Meter. It was a great Light Meter that was waterproof to 300'.
It too was very popular with divers and was soon seen on most dive boats.
They even made a newer version, the Marine Meter II, although the changes, like a white case, were minimal.
This is easily identified as the Original, 1st version by the film speed meter which reads in the old ASA rating.
The new one reads in ISO.

This one is in near perfect condition, no scars, no scratches, very few signs of being used at all.
It uses a 625 battery, easy to find anywhere. The battery cap unscrews easily & shows no signs of corrosion.
The O-Ring is dry & flat but it too can be quickly replaced & the meter is ready to use.

A quick check on eBay shows many of these available but ..... not this original model!
They are listed from $30 to $100.

A nice addition to your Vintage Scuba display. Essential if you have a Nikonos camera collection.
