The Pro's Choice for Spot Cooling

This is for spot cooling only, it's open frame is not suitable for ventilation applications

This is a Professional Grade product intended for the professional audio video and electronics market.  The professional market has more unique needs with a more modular approach to system design and functionality a key.

This unit is ideal as a spot cooler for equipment which is important if not critical for removing pockets of heat that may exists above and around components.  Heat pockets naturally form and can exist even in open areas/shelving or when ventilation systems are deployed to reduce heat pockets in general.  The pockets can still form and exist simply due to how air is moving around the components and system as a whole.  Spot cooling is very simple but can save equipment and prevent thermal shutdowns.

*  Because CCI deploys a variable fan speed approach, either through the use of controllers or with the included variable voltage power supply, thus providing for speed control through voltage adjustment, the noise and cfm level depends on the configuration.  The products are designed to be operated silently in the 7 to 9V range but allows for more aggressive cooling at 12V.  What other products do is not provide for more aggressive cooling and instead either set a fixed lower voltage or buy fans with lower RPMs.  This is another aspect of Professional vs Retail products, professional products provide a wider fan speed, thus cfm range and let the installer determine the best configuration for the application.

Wide Range of Operation.  A trend that has occurred is that in everyone's quest to be 'silent', or just cheap, competitors have narrowed their range of operation where like usual, Cool Components provides maximum flexibility with a much wider range of operation.  This is not rocket science and there's also no magic fan that is ultra aggressive while being silent.  Yes, there are improvements in fan blade design but bluntly put, if using a ball bearing fan, they simply are not too concerned with noise because ball bearing fans will begin emitting bearing noise within a few months and just continue to get louder and louder.  Noise, cfm's, and rpm's are all relative, the faster the fan spins, the more cfm but also more noise.  The key is just a balance especially when what's silent to one person may not be silent to another. What they do though is either use a low rpm fan so at 12V (assuming using 12V fans), they will reduce the voltage down without the ability for the installer to kick it back up.  So while their fans operate at 7 volts, CCI products operate with a wide and true 5-12V range.  Part of that quest for silence is also misguided because there are plenty of applications where noise is not a major factor and especially in commercial and industrial applications or if equipment is installed in a closet.  Then one of the worst decisions is to use a 5V fan.

Intended Use and Authorized Sales

Cool Components products are ONLY intended for professional markets. This is not just a sales issue, the design, the application, the modular approach deployed with the products is purely intended for the professional markets and the reason why the products are used in the military, NASA, throughout the government, in all the big tech companies and also in homes and businesses around the globe.  What this means for sales is that audio video dealers and other technology related businesses are the primary point of sales for the sales and installation of the units.  These channels require training and other processes that also require compensation which is just one of the reasons that professional products typically cost more than direct to consumer products.

There is not one single dealer or distributor authorized to sell Cool Components products direct to consumer online except for Tech Supply Depot.  There is no exception this no matter what a reseller may state and this can be confirmed on Cool Components' website. The consequence of purchasing from an unauthorized reseller is the warranty is void.
