Cox Medallion 09 Gas Model Airplane Engine for Control Line or Free Flight

Sport version of the TeeDee.

Cox put many other engine makers out of business through low cost machining efficiencies. As well, their piston and cylinder fits were consistently better than the completion. 

Good enough that you could swap a new piston from one engine to a cylinder in another and still have a decent fit. 

In its era (the 1960’s) the medallion was one of the best value motors on the market; a dollar lower in price meant a lot to a young modeller in 1963. The Medallions had less aggressive porting than the TeeDees and were known for their good handling characteristics.

This motor is listed as used, but I don’t think it has been mounted or seen fuel. 

It has “As New” compression, fits and cosmetics. Comes with jewel box, operating instructions and wrench.

Two flaws are the use removal marks on the backplate and the jewel box which is in fair condition. 

Still collector quality.
