This is the US edition of The Children of Hurin by J R R Tolkien,  published by Harper Collins in New York in 2007.

It comprises a collection of Tolkien's stories, edited by his son, Christopher Tolkien, a professor at Oxford University, like his father.  


Condition

The book is in near fine condition, with no ownership signs, no writing of any kind, no bookplates or underlining, and no library stamps. Binding is firm, with tight hinges and sharp corners. The book appears to be unread. 

The 8 full-color and numerous black and white illustrations by Alan Lee are in their original flawless condition, with no signs of handling. The folded map at the rear of the book is also in its original fine condition.

The book's dust jacket is in fine collectible or gift-giving condition, with no rips or tears or shelf wear.   The original price of $34.95 is intact on the front fold.  The jacket is now in a removable Bro-Dart protective cover and shows extremely well on the shelf.
