Sony PS-J20 compact turntable, these are great to pair up with mini HIFI’s due to there size but they can be connected to anything with an AUX IN!

So how do they work? ……. Normally a turntable needs to be connected to an amplifier with a dedicated Phono input due to the lower sound level that comes from the turntable cartridge, this means if you connect any old turntable to an AUX IN on an amplifier the sound is so quiet it’s in unusable.

These turntables have a small low power amp built in that boosts the output from the turntable cartridge to what’s known as “Line Level” this allows them to be connected to any spare AUX Input meaning they will work on boom boxes, HIFI’s, Bluetooth speakers pretty much anything with aux in!

This feature can also be turned on and off meaning if you change your amp to one that has a dedicated phono input at any point you won’t need to change the turntable simply just switch off the built in amp via the switch underneath and it’s ready to go!

These are perfect for anyone that has an existing speaker or audio system and wants to add a turntable without having to spend a fortune upgrading everything.

They come fitted as standard with L&R phono plugs so an adapter will be required for headphone jack style aux inputs however these are cheap and readily available on eBay.
