This is a gorgeous handmade Kilim pillow. It is a possibly antique, but at the very least vintage, rug fragment. It is not a cover as most are, It is a fully filled pillow. This was handmade and does have a contrast welt. The welt may be machine stitched but in all honesty, it is so tight against the rug, I can't pull it apart enough to see the stitching. I have provided a picture of the corner where you can see it was hand closed after the fill. I do wish I could put an exact date with it but other than older, that is where I sit.

I cannot be sure without opening it, but it does feel like it is filled with something other than what would be used currently, polyfill or down. (A longshot guess but maybe wool?) It is soft but more dense than polyfill  and recovers to its original shape more than a down fill. It will hold a chopped crease at the top but, the rug is stiff and it looks a little odd when you do that. The pillow is solid and does have good weight to it. It is in nice vintage condition as these rugs are somewhat indestructible! I did purchase this from the estate of an antique shop owner.

About me:

I graduated with a Bachelor's in Interior Design in '97. I worked in the field for 20 years successfully until having twins with medical issues. This necessitated my transition to a different kind of work and staying home with them. Recently, I have reignited my passion for design with my (mostly) vintage and antiques eBay business. I'm very small but I get to handle all aspects and make sure my customers are happy. I find it very fulfilling to find hidden treasures for others to enjoy! In a strange way, it keeps me in touch with my design roots and helps make a little money to participate in paying bills for my family. Thank you so much for looking and for your purchase, I really appreciate you!
