Egyptian Queen Ti
She was the daughter of Yuya, the Egyptian charioteer and overseer of the god Min's cattle; Her mother, Thuya, was also Egyptian. Although she was not of royal blood, Ti became the favorite wife of Amenhotep III (r. 1390–1353 BC), a powerful king of the Eighteenth Dynasty, who gave her great importance in affairs of state and in public ceremonies. Her name appeared with the king's name in official documents. She is the mother of Amenhotep IV, or Akhenaten, and remained prominent after he ascended the throne. Her mummy, preserved in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, was identified in 1976.
