This is a lamp which I believe was originally used in the mining industry, although it is possible it may of been used on the railways, on roads or in the shipping industry.f

The lamp is approximately 12 inches high and has a heavy brass base, which is the main reason for its overall weight of approximately 1.75 kg. As can be seen from the photographs the lamp is in somewhat distressed condition and would benefit from restoration.  "

The only markings I can see are on the brass base of the lamp it is marked British Manufacture" and "673" and on the upper metal  there is an indistinct marking
