I put a new battery into it, and can hear the announcement chime and the time announcement voice loud and clear. 

However, there is NO digital display. It is very likely that the LCD display is shot; I have no experience with watch repair to know for certain.

As a result, this watch is being sold "as is" as a parts only item.
