In part 1 of the red & orange painted 4-8-4’s 15 year old transcontinental journey across Northern America, you’ll travel from Portland Oregon to Montana in the big sky country.

In part 5, there is a cab ride aboard 4449 on the westbound return trip to Portland in October with crew member Bill Stetler at the throttle, while Patrick Tracy provides informative commentary, as we travel from Harve to Shelby Montana.

Along the way throughout the series, there are meets with freight trains on BNSF & Montana rail link, as well as Amtrak’s empire builder.
