Thirteenth in the First Run of Bowen's Marvel Mini-Bust Series

Marvel Mini-Bust by Bowen Designs
"BLACK PANTHER"

The Black Panther, comics' first African-American Super Hero, leapt from the inventive genius of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and into the Marvel Universe in July of 1966.  T'Challa was heir to the throne of the scientifically superior African nation of Wakanda, home of the precious element vibranium.  When his father, King "I" Chaka, was murdered by the master of sound Ulysses Klaw in an attempt to claim the country's vibranium mine, T'Challa avenged his father's death by silencing Klaw's efforts.  Now King of Wakanda, T'Challa assumed the mantle of his people's protective warrior, the Black Panther, a champion as sleek, swift and dangerous as his feline namesake.

A master of technology and physical combat, T'Challa now combines these dual disciplines in his guise of the Black Panther, prowling the concrete jungle of New York.  An ally of the Fantastic Four and a former member of the Avengers, King T'Challa rules his people wisely, and remains forever poised to spring into action when needed as the Black Panther.
