KIRKUS REVIEW

From a renowned portraitist visual biographies of the notables: artists (Villa-Lobos, Ben Shahn, Leger), political figures (L.B. Johnson as Senate Majority leader, John F. Kennedy, the junior Senator from Massachusetts); and the undistinguished (the most affecting photographs here): a village priest, a Florentine cobbler -- shots which succeed in a remarkably innovative way in integrating the subjects with their professional surroundings.

Boards show light wear. Silver lettering bright. Hinges sound. Binding tight. Light tanning to page edges. A few creases to first free endpaper, the half title page and title page. Beautiful clean images. DJ lightly soiled and rubbed with light wear and a couple of tears to the top edge. Little rubbing to the corners. Edgewear. Few scratches and scuff marks visible in the light. Not price clipped.
