1X 1909-S Lincoln Wheat Cent DDR (VDDR-003)

This DDR was recently discovered.  Numismatic researcher, Shawn Tew, looked at the coin in this listing while it was in the Penny Lady's inventory and Mr. Tew attributed it as a Class III Doubled Die Reverse (VDDR-003).

History:  According to Shawn Tew, to save costs the Mint had Brenner's reverse rehubbed with Barber's version to correct production of the new Lincoln Wheat Cent. This created a Class III reverse clearly seen on the T and E of UNITED...SEE PHOTOS.
