This is a Seagate 'Expansion' external USB 3.0 hard drive, in 2.0 Gb capacity. It's used, but in immaculate condition.

I've written every sector on the disk, and run full diagnostics (which took six hours). So far as I can tell, everything is fine.

Inside the enclosure is a Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 SATA III hard drive at 7200 RPM. So it's a serious piece of equipment. Technical data on the Barracuda drive is here:

The unit supports low-power spin-down modes, if the operating system behaves itself. It's quiet (silent, to my ears) in the spin-down state. It's not too noisy when it's spinning, but you'll know it is.

Please be aware that this is a magnetic disk, not an SSD. It has an external power supply (included), and a proprietary USB cable (included). It is not bus-powered -- don't even try. It takes ages (about ten seconds) to spin up from cold, as all magnetic drives of this capacity do. And, of course, it won't stand being knocked about.

I don't have any of the original packaging, but it will be securely packed for transport. Alternatively, the buyer can collect from my home, near J20 of the M25 (Watford area).

Please be aware that this is a no-returns sale, to the extent that the law allows. Frankly, I don't really need the comparatively small amount of money this sale will raise, but I do need it out of my house, because it's taking up space on my desk.

I have two absolutely identical units for sale. I wouldn't normally end an auction early, but I'm willing to consider offers in this case, if you want to buy both together. This will save a little money on postage as well.
