This is an exception piece of the history of lace and clothes-making in general, made in Carrickmacross, Ireland, in approximately the year 1800. This spectacular piece was made during the reign of William IV, before Ireland and Great Britain were joined as a United Kingdom. It is by no means perfectly preserved, but is still in wonderful condition, all things considered. The collar is approximately ~26 inches long, navigating around the longer side. It features superb densely-knit floral patterns throughout the piece, around the edges and through the middle.

Very good antique condition, especially when considering the age. For this piece being over two centuries old, it's incredible it's still in wearable condition. There is one small hole, towards the top of the arc, in the backing mesh. There are several small stains scattered throughout, and several dangling threads. There has been no attempt at a restoration, and no attempt to clean. See photos for more details.

Sold as-is. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to request more photos. Thanks.
