I am using the construction of these different types of linear axes to teach myself important design skills. This linear was designed in Solidworks and I utilized one of the laser cut companies to laser cut the steel plates on this.

It comes with a small nema 17 but can be converted to a nema 23 with the adapter plates I sell.

The slide utilizes HG15 linear bearing with a steel acme lead screw 1/2-10 and a custom hdpe drive nut. Currently weighs 6 lbs. for mounting you can use the extrusion at the base and the top plate does have extra blank holes in it for tapping or thought mounting.

For shipping I will remove the stepper mount and the lead screw so it doesn’t get damaged. Since this is a prototype you’ll need to clean it up a bit.

This is a prototype and is not perfect and needs finishing. I included a small plastic block for a drive nut. It’s HDPE so it’s easy to drill and tap.

You could also use 1/4-16 acme as well but you’ll need the tap for that.

This thing is super strong and sturdy. It took a bit of time to assemble but it was worth it.

I think it needs some screws in the steel plates to hold the side plates tighter
