Studio Ghibli is offering beautifully illustrated posters from all its anime films
by producing historically accurate reprints made from the original plates
reproducing the pamphlets and posters of all 23 Studio Ghibli
theatrically released feature-length animated films, released to date,
as they were at the time of the original release.

Offered here is the 2nd released movie poster from PRINCESS MONONOKE
originally released on July 12, 1997.
This movie poster was reprinted and re-issued on November 1, 2022,
the opening day of Ghibli Park in Moricoro Park, Nagoya, Japan.
The poster is made by Studio Ghibli tracking down the original printing plates,
most of which were created decades ago, and brought them out of retirement.
They’re even going so far as to using the same non-standard ink colors,
outside the standard four-color printing process, that they originally did,
to make sure the fresh batch of posters’ colors are rich and authentic.
And, Studio Ghibli re-issued these reprinted posters in the original B2 size
at it was at the time of the original release.

Historial collection of movie posters and pamphlets includes art that has been
largely forgotten by modern fans.
Almost every anime Ghibli has created was initially screened in movie theaters with beautifully illustrated posters
promoting them to anyone passing by the building or through its lobby.
Many of these posters have since become some of the most memorable and iconic pieces of art in the anime world,
and now they can grace your home, as Ghibli is producing historically accurate reprints
of the posters for all 23 of its theatrically released anime.
Studio Ghibli is now offering reprints of posters from all its anime films made from the original plates.
Instead of simply printing out a bunch of digital copies, they have tracked down the original printing plates,
most of which were created decades ago, and brought them out of retirement.
This includes all 23 of its feature films, but all 49 visuals, incuding the alternate illustrations,
that were used to promote the films during their original release.
This historical collection of posters and theater pamphlets includes art
that has been largely forgotten by modern fans.
This, being Studio Ghibli, they have stayed as faithful as they could to the original process.
In reprinting, the original printing version at the time of publication is used.
"Complete reproduction" has been achieved by reproducing and printing non-standard ink colors
(special inks other than the four colors normally used in printing) that are often used in Ghibli posters
to make sure the fresh batch of posters' colors are rich, authentic and bright.
The posters are being sold in B2 size (as was the original poster measurement)
measuring 51.5 cm wide x 72.8 cm long (20.3 inches x 28.7 inches).
While they cover 23 titles, there are actually 49 different posters, i.e., many films had two or more posters,
with some of these alternates being designs that have rarely been seen since the anime left the theaters...
such as the SPIRITED AWAY poster with Chihiro sprawled out in the back seat of her parent's car.


This PRINCESS MONONOKE poster is in mint condition in Studio Ghibli's original poster box (pictured)
which is then inserted into a poster mailing tube for shipping.
All of our Studio Ghibli posters are made in Japan, printed in Japan originated from Japan,
and are the original "Studio Ghibli Movie Collection Series" original printings.
