Super rare, super cool Nagra E reel to reel tape recorder ... an audio relic straight out of the 70s.

These things are very hard to come by these days. I might be wrong but I don't think there is another one listed on eBay whatsoever - and the amount of money you can get for separating out the parts is eye-watering.

Unfortunately I know nothing about electrics so I won't be doing that - plus I'd love this to go to someone intact to start recording some audio gold.

IMPORTANT: UNTESTED, USED CONDITION

COMES WITHOUT POWER SOURCE / CORD

I really wanted to get this thing going for myself but the only guy I could find in my town qualified to do the work isn't interested in taking on vintage audio jobs because he reckons it's not worth his while. Oh well.

Cosmetically it looks great. It's old obviously so there's some wear as expected but it's built like a tank (got a fair bit of weight to it) and if you have the know-how or means to get this fired up I'm sure it will make an awesome working addition to any audiophile's collection.

Located in Australia but can send overseas for cost of postage.

Here's some of the stuff I found online:

Nagra E 1/4 reel to reel tape player for sale. Its a mono machine and was mainly used for broadcast and journalistic uses in the late 1970's. Superb Swiss construction, this thing is built like a tank.
