Estate sale find of an antique or vintage metal oval doorknob marked "Public School City Of New York. Appears to be made of brass with either copper or bronze face. Online research indicates this door knob was made by a company called Sargent and Corbin for their 1900 catalog. Approximately 2 1/2 inches tall, 1 5/8" wide, 2 1/4" deep. It is heavy for a doorknob, weighing approx. 9 ounces. Collectible collector collection, genuine original authentic official, re-enactor re-enactment acting actor, movie theatre theater museum exhibit prop display, plaque shadowbox, 1900's 1900s, etc. Please see photos and/or scans for more on condition (and read eBay definitions).
