According to the context, the weathering of the material, the knapping method and the typology of the tool, this piece seems to date back to the second half of the Mousterian period, up to Upper Paleolithic. 

Tool: very beautiful Mousterian blade, knapped on flake  by our ancestor Neanderthal. Marks of use on the active sides. Beautiful artifact of the end of Neanderthal era!

This very nice piece is from an ancient French family collection. It has been found before the 1960's.
