A very good, unmarked copy of MANCHILD IN THE PROMISED LAND by Claude Brown. This is the seventh printing of the first edition published by Macmillan 1965. Brown's story of his life was shocking when it was first published and soon became a bestseller. The book is still in its original $5.95 dust jacket. The jacket has a few creases and some small losses and tears at the top of the spine. It is now protected with a Brodart book wrapper. The red cloth covered boards, with their gold and black stamped titles, are quite good with just slight edge wear along the bottom. Red dyed top page edges. The interior likewise is good. Intact hinges, sound binding. No previous owners' names or bookplates. No foxing, no underlining. No water damage. Not book club. NOT ex-library. Size is approximately 6 by 8 1/2 inches. There are 415 numbered pages. A very good copy of the book overall. Please ask any questions you may have; I'd be happy to answer. The book will be well wrapped and securely boxed. I value the things I sell. No plastic or manila mailers. Shipping is $5.25 via USPS Media Mail.
