This is a really cool old set! Two huge books full of the full year 1917!! I think these might be out of a library or maybe the archives of the magazine to be bound up like this.  Really good shape - I thumbed through and just seen a few tears in the pages. I think the binding material is leather and has cool screws on ends to hold magazines. The first volume has a few magazines not held but just needs to be undone and repositioned. Total of 52 Magazines - The First volume has an included index and has Vol 54 Jan-June 1917 so I'm assuming the 2nd volume is Vol 55 Jul - Dec. It does not have an index. These are the Magazine dates included: Jan 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th. Feb 3, 10, 17, 24. Mar 3,10,17,24,31. Apr 7,14,21,28. May 5,12,19,26. June 2,9,16,23,30. July 7,14,21,28. Aug 4,11,18,25. Sept 1,8,15,22,29. Oct 6,13,20,27.Nov 3,10,17,24. Dec 1,8,15,22,29.
