ORIGINAL CLASS OF 1849 YALE COLLEGE AUTOGRAPH BOOK BELONGING TO HENRY M HASKELL 

This is a wonderful original. This is an original Yale College Class of 1849 autograph book.  It is a wonderful original full leather bound book belonging to Class of 1849 member Henry M Haskell.  The book is filled with 150+ notes, quotes, and signatures from nearly all the faculty and professors as well as every graduating member of the Class of 1849.  Lots of quotes written by these well educated students from the likes of Cicero, Tennyson, and others.  Fortunately, I found the record of the Class of 1849 out there on the internet.  It listed all the students in the class in alphabetical order.  Henry Haskell, the owner of the book, was a very thorough human being, and had every single student sign the book with most of them writing a page or so (almost in perfect alphabetical order).  He also got, what I can only imagine, was a signature of nearly all the faculty and professors.  Even the tutors.  He even got some other students in the future classes.  Because of the record, I was able to match each page with the proper name and then do some more research about who they were.  

I have included images of the spreadsheet with everyone who signed and any historical significance.  Within the signers are 4 Yale College Presidents (past, present, and future from 1849), 18 Civil War Soldiers including both Union and Confederate, 4 known Skull & Bones members, and many public servants including State and US Representatives, District Attorneys, Mayors, and many more.  Even a Real Estate magnate who was a major player in the creation of Kansas City. These autograph books are quite scarce.  There are a  few out there from other years but none that have been digested the way this one has.  The book itself measures 8 1/4 x 6 3/4 inches.  Red leather with wonderful gold tooling.  Binding is pretty tight with just a few pages a little loose.  Really an incredibly preserved documentation of an important early class of Yale.  Dont miss this chance.  FREE SHIPPING ANYWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES!
