Rare Antique Solid Silver Dog Nose, Rat's Tail Spoon.

I think it probably dates to King George 1st - to about the 1720's.

The makers mark is quite clear and is probably that for Thomas Mann and that particular mark was registered in July 1720.  He was a flatware maker.

The date letter is quite obscure but I think it could be the 'G' of 1722.

The crowned leopards head helps to corroborate this as being a later sterling dog nose example rather than more typical earlier Britannia examples

It has good period owners initials.

Length is 19.2mm or 7 and a half inches so it's a table spoon and weighs 44g

It is quite worn at the tip but these spoons are not easy to find and its over 300 years old

I'll start it at one pound and let it reach it's honest level

I do combine post where possible
I can send this to China or the USA for £26
