Miroir aux allouettes as called in France,is an intriguing hunting item dates back to the early 1900s. This French birds decoy combines functionality with artistry. The walnut wooden mirrored hunting tool item was placed in the ground and wound up. The hunter would pull a string causing the head of the tool to rotate. With the reflection and movement, birds would mistake it for a bird that had landed below and found safe haven.
