Bugis Keris sword from Sumatra. This Keris measures 16 1/4” in total length when measured in its scabbard. The handle is wood with a wonderful old patina. The figure is clearly seated, with long skinny arms wrapped around its upper torso holding a triangular shaped object on its back. There are carvings on the head, back and triangular shaped object. There is a stable crack on one side of its head. I think this is a pretty old handle. Brass cup mendak is loose. The blade, with visible layering througout, has some rusting and oxidation. The wood scabbard has a lovely patina and shows good age as well. Please email with any questions. Please view my other auctions for a great variety of swords, daggers and tribal art.
