This is a beautiful Vintage Gold Gilt Putti Cherub Playing a Violin.  It stands 16" tall. An estate piece.  It has a hook on the back making it a wall hanging but as you can see from the pictures, it also is free-standing.  I strongly suggest some type of support if you want to use it as free standing as it is intended to hang.  The violin actually moves or rotates slightly.  It is missing the bow.  In good used vintage condition.  Small chip on the back.  The right arm will need to be glued back in place.  The shoulder of that same arm is lightly crushed.  I took a photo of the inside so you can see and perhaps determine what material it is made of.  It feels like a light weight resin to me.  I really am not sure.  If it wasn't broken, I would have said it was Paper Mache.  It has a nice wight to it.  It has an overall intentional distressed look as do all the ruins in Italy.  I did not find a marking but I am guessing it is Italian.  It is an absolutely beautiful old piece.
