One of four cards in the Cannon Collection from the uncommon series of at least ten c.3" x 4.5" Pinafore Silhouette stock trade cards known as series "A". (Note that the water above the ship's rail is not shaded, which distinguishes this set from series "B".) The card is captioned "I am the Captain of the Pinafore - and a right good Captain too" and there is an overprinted advert in the box for Hamblet's Cream Java Coffee. The face is clean and there are a few light marks on the reverse, which has additional "puff" for Hamblet's Coffee.

item was formerly in the collection of John Cannon, the respected G&S
collector and researcher who died in 2021. He left instructions that all
collectors should have a chance to acquire the treasures in his collection,
which will therefore be auctioned here over the next year or so by
StageMemories and PaperJoys. Please let us know if you would like to be added

to reduce the shipping costs for you, but please note that when multiple
items reach a high total value I may ask you to insure the package. If you want
a service not stated, such as first class or surface mail, please ask for a
quote. In
all cases please discuss with me before making your payment. The maximum
possible level of insurance on items sent overseas with Royal Mail is £250.
If the total value of contents exceeds this figure then you will have to
accept the risk of sending the item(s), or choose an alternative courier.
