This set of 7 tall tumblers was made by Guppy's (or Guppy) California Pottery in the 1940s. The tumblers' color is two-toned: lime green in some spots and a mossy-forest green in others. These hand-thrown and hand-coiled pieces are very rare, very unusual and very exceptional — they are like tie-dye in a cup.

Each tumbler is 6.5 inches tall with a diameter of 4 inches.

All are in outstanding condition. The only flaws to note are one small chip on the rim of one tumbler (see last photo), some very minor and faint crazing of the glaze in a few spots on some of the tumblers (see 2nd to last photo) and signs of wear on the tumblers' undersides. Otherwise they are very green, very glossy and each is like a work of art.

Guppy's, founded by Roy and Harriet Guppy, was started in the 1940s in the seaside community of Corona Del Mar, California. The pair continued to create their island-themed collectible pottery through the 1950s.

I will soon be listing more items from this green Guppy's line on eBay, including smaller mugs, coffee cups and serving pieces, as well as salad and dinner plates.
