Original large format 5 x 7" film negative. Photographed at Williamsburg VA in 1941 by the documentary photographer Charles Medin. Between 1931 and 1934, Colonial Williamsburg rebuilt the old Capitol based on the design of the first Capitol that stood from 1705 to 1745. It opened to the public on February 23, 1934.

Charles Medin was artist/photographer and then assistant editor of the Illinois Central Magazine, circa 1900s to 1949. His images are well-known to railfans as he documented railroads and city street scenes across the Eastern & Southern states.
