Vintage Heishi PUKA Shell Necklace With Scrimshaw Ship 16”

This one is really special. I purchased it at an Estate sale along with a few other PUKA shell necklaces and bracelets but this one is my favorite.

I heated a pin and stuck it into the side of the pendant but it didn’t penetrate. I really don’t know what the material is but I’m pretty sure it’s not plastic.
