Laurent was born in France (1816-1892) and began his career as a daguerreotypist in Paris and eventually moved to Madrid around 1857 where he became one of Spain's greatest 19th century photographers as well as an innovator in photographic processes - around 10x13" albumen photo on huge near 14x19" period matte - some edge discoloration and missing matte corners, nicks and few matte edge tears but albumen and close border preserved nicely. Will look wonderful framed.
