Product Description

Whether you are maintaining existing dreads or creating new dreadlocks from scratch, this has got to be one of your must have products! Just a little sprinkle of powder will texturise the hair strands and make them knot and lock up in a fraction of the time. It is particularly good for soft, silky hair as it almost makes it courser so they are more inclined to knot. This product will not build up in your hair.

Installing New Dreads

Installing new dreads: Sprinkle Dread Dust onto the section of undreaded hair before backcombing. Dread Dust will give the comb something to grip on and will make the process of forming little knots so much quicker.

Maintaining Existing Dreads

Dread Dust can be used when performing maintenance and will be a great help encouraging even the straightest of hair to knot and lock up.

Other Uses

This is a great little product to use when you are installing braid in extensions. Gripping the undreaded hair to make the braid as tight as possible can be difficult if the hair is soft, silky and slippery. Sprinkle a little Dread Dust on a hard surface and press your finger tips into it before braiding. A small amount of dust will transfer to the hair allowing you to grip it better whilst making the braid tighter.

Dread Empire's Dread Dust is proudly Australian Made.

More Info

Maintenance: Dread Dust works best in clean, dry dreads. For the ultimate result, wash with a Dread Shampoo, spray dreads with Dreadlock Accelerator and allow to air dry. Sprinkle a small amount of Dread Dust directly onto dreads and then palm roll twisting the dread back and forth.

For hairs that have become loose and messy, sprinkle some Dread Dust onto a hard surface. Press your finger tips into it then grab a few loose hairs then rub them between your finger tips to create a dread ball. This can then be pulled into the dread using a dreading crochet hook.

Tackle new growth by sprinkling a small amount on to the undreaded hair. Hold the dread between two fingers about 1cm away from your scalp and rub in circles firmly against the scalp in a clockwise direction.

New Dreads: The Dread Dust makes it a sinch to create dreads from scratch too! Just before back combing sprinkle a little Dread Dust onto the dreads... remember less is more here. Once you get familiar with how well your hair dreads, you can increase the amount of Dread Dust you are using.
