Scarce complete work in one volume by the french phylosopher Charles Batteux (1713-1780), carachter of main important in the field of aestethics.
Batteux became member fo the Academie Francaise in 1761.
The work, in response to the french grammarian Nicolas Beauzèe (1717-1789) takes into examination the prejudice of the inversion in grammar.
