Description:
Doctor Who - 'A Christmas Carol'!
Matt Smith and Karen Gillan return as the Doctor and his companion in an all-new Doctor Who Christmas special coming to DVD and Blu-ray. Writer/Executive Producer Stephen Moffat (The Original UK Coupling, Sherlock) describes the special, "We're going for broke with this one. It's all your favourite Christmas movies at once, in an hour, with monsters. And the Doctor. And a honeymoon. I've honestly never been so excited about writing anything. I was laughing madly as I typed along to Christmas songs in April."

Special guest stars include Michael Gambon (Harry Potter) and Welsh singing sensation Katherine Jenkins. It promises to be a must-own classic for Doctor Who and Sci-Fi fans everywhere!

The 60-minute holiday special, based on the classic Dickens story but also incorporating other holiday films you'll be VERY familiar with, stars Matt Smith as the 11th Doctor, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill as companions Amy and Rory, plus Michael Gambon ("Dumbledore" in many of the Harry Potter films) and mezzo-soprano singer Katherine Jenkins.

Ep: 1-7
A new series broadcast in 2011; the first seven episodes will be broadcast with the mid-season finale being a "game-changing cliff-hanger".

Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, and Arthur Darvill all reprise their roles. Peter Bennett remains as producer, but his counterpart Tracie Simpson is replaced by Sanne Wohlenberg, while departing production designer Edward Thomas is replaced by Michael Pickwoad.

Series 6, will continue story threads from series 5, investigating the mysterious silence that caused the TARDIS to explode in "The Pandorica Opens" / "The Big Bang" and the identity of River Song. The two-part opening story, written by Steven Moffat and directed by Toby Haynes, was partially filmed in the United States, a first for the programme, and will feature Alex Kingston and Mark Sheppard; the Doctor, Amy and Rory will travel from Utah to Washington, D.C. during the 1960s. Production on the new series will continue until March 2011.

The season debut episode, guest starring Alex Kingston (ER) as River Song, is titled "The Impossible Astronaut", and is the first of a 2-part story that concludes with "Day of the Moon" (also look for guest star Mark Sheppard and his father, W. Morgan Sheppard). Those are written by showrunner Steven Moffat, who is also known for his work with Mark Gatiss on the BBC's Sherlock. One of the writers from Sherlock's first season, Stephen Thompson, penned the third episode of Doctor Who's sixth season. The fourth episode, with the intriguing title of "The Doctor's Wife", is authored by none other than award-winning writer Neil Gaiman (Neverwhere, Stardust, Coraline, Sandman). Next up is a two-part story, "The Rebel Flesh" and "The Almost People", from Life on Mars creator Matthew Graham.

Then the 7th episode is the "mid-season finale", written by Moffat in what he has described as both a "game-changing cliff-hanger" and an "Earth-shattering climax". That one is to air in June, followed by a summer break with no new episode until the "fall debut" of the sixth season's back half, starting with the second part of Moffat's as-yet-untitled cliffhanger. Then, from September on, you'll see the remaining episodes of the season... a total of 13 in all, so there will be six on the autumn schedule (including stories written by Mark Gatiss, Tom MacRae, Toby Whitehouse, Gareth Roberts and Moffat with the season finale).

Ep: 8-13
The truth about River Song is out and the time has come for the Doctor to face his greatest demons. Venturing across centuries and galaxies, the Doctor, Amy and Rory will encounter the greatest war criminal in all of history - and Hitler. Together, they'll discover there's no scarier place in the universe than a child's bedroom and a visit to an alien quarantine facility will reveal to Rory a very different side to his wife.

In a hotel where walls move, corridors twist and rooms vanish, death lies waiting. But the Doctor's time has yet to come. He has one last stop to make on his final journey - an old friend needs his help and an old foe must be defeated. But time catches up with us all and the Doctor can delay no more.

By the shores of Lake Silencio, in Utah, all of time and space hang in the balance. And a NASA astronaut is waiting.

Hello :-)

IMPORTANT DVD INFORMATION FOR MY US & CANADIAN CUSTOMERS:

As per the auction these are UK Region 2 + 4 DVDs (US/Canada are Region 1) and you need a multi-regional (multi-zone) DVD player to play them!

BUT don't panic just yet :-)

Many DVD players are easy to unlock.
Let me know the brand and model number of your DVD player so I see if there is a simple unlock code for your player.

Many of my US/Canadian customers chose to play or copy these UK DVDs on a PC before playing them.

I also see there are many economical Multi Region DVD players on EBay ($35-50).
Just do a search if you wish.

It seems a shame to let go of this great DVD set.

Cheers :-)
