An exceptional early 19th century English gilt and patinated bronze candlestick featuring a spread eagle with great detail and articulated feathers resting on a pyramidal platform with mounts at the side representing aspects of Great Britain and the empire including the lion, rose and thistle.  All rising on ball feet.  Weighted at the bottom with original lead insert - very heavy.  All original - 2 part construction.  Please view our other auctions.  Measures 8 7/8" tall and the base 3 5/8" square.
