Originally published in 1933, this book contains a collection of knitting patterns for stylish vintage garments. Instructions are included for a Boulevard suit and jacket, Boulevard waistcoat, country club blouse, Promenade blouse, skirt and jacket, Turf Club slipover, shawl, boudoir wrap, Tete-a-Tete blouse, silhouette blouse and beret, Lake Placid turtle neck and beret, Fairway blouse, two sweater slipovers for men and one sweater slipover for a juvenile boy.

Directions for this book are for vintage size 34 except for the Promenade ensemble which is a size 36 -- but don't fret if this isn't your size -- we also provide unbound paper instructions for: 

  • basic directions for changing the size of a garment.
  • instructions for measuring your body for vintage patterns.
  • directions for choosing your size based on body measurements from the late 1800s through the 1950s when corsets and girdles made women thinner.
  • fittings guideline chart you can use to adjust patterns to fit tighter or looser based on your own preferences of a snug or loose fit with your clothing.
  • knitting/crochet conversion instructions you can use if you like a specific pattern but are not skilled in knitting/crochet (or vice versa), you can do what you are familiar with.
