Conquerors of Space (1961) is a promotional advertisment in comic book form for the Power Mite II, a "big, easily assembled, climb-in, corrugated board capsule," designed to look like a real space capsule! Its main feature was a battery-powered control panel, complete with buzzers, levers, and blinkers. The comic also includes fun facts about flashbulbs on each page. Prepared by Johnstone and Cushing (an advertising firm that specialized in comic ads such as these) for the Photo Lamp Department of General Electric Company. 8 pages, full color, 7 in. x 10 in., newsprint.
