This listing is for a strand of 108 hand carved Yak Bone skulls for you to create with! Gorgeous necklace with 108 hand carved Yak bone skull beads to wear as is or use Beads for you own jewelry designs. 37"(94cm) in Length. 108 bone skull Prayer Mala, approximately 8.5-9mm, but will vary slightly since all are carved by hand.
This bone prayer mala (rosary) of 108 beads is indispensable to meditative practice. Each bead is used to count the repetition of a mantra or chant. The number 108 bears spiritual significance across several religions. The bead - at which point the worshiper commences his/her chant is the Guru bead, a symbol of the teacher-student bond.
The traditional number of beads in a mala is 108. The beads themselves, made from variety of seeds, wood, and semiprecious stones, are worn around the neck or wrapped in coils around the wrist.
In Tibetan Buddhist, skull cup is often used in ritual practices. Skull signifies impermanence and encourages a life of compassion. Handmade. Minor variations and organic defects may be present which further enhance the individual artistic character.)
