QED “quite excellently done”. These are well-built, high-performing, and good-looking wheels. They were straight, true and tensioned correctly right out of the box and simply look beautiful. On the road they feel very solid and way faster than a standard section wheel. The Chosen hubs are made in Taiwan and must roll on some of the smoothest bearings I have ever felt with zero detectable drag in the hand. These wheels are equal to if not lighter than the most expensive brands out there with basically the same rim shape as the Zipp 404 fire crest minus the dimples. In short this build is a tremendous dollar/performance value and will make any ride more fun. No more race day only wheels for me, I am going out on these on every ride.Thanks for the sweet wheels. Take a close look at the profile of our 38mm carbon U-shape rim and you will notice it is virtually the same has the most expensive brands currently on the market.
The width at the top edge of the brake track width is 25mm.The wider rim allows the tire to take on a wider profile for greater stability, lower safe tire pressures, better handling, and lower rolling resistance. The ultra high temperature resistant basalt treated braking surface is slightly angled to improve the braking performance.
The rim also has an optimized aerodynamic profile with a nice round shape on the trailing edge which greatly improves handling in crosswinds. Unlike many of the carbon rims you will find on ebay, our rims are made of top quality 100% TORAYT800 carbon material from Japan. All of our rims are lab tested to or better than EN and EN standards.
You can rest assured our wheels will come out of the box true with proper spoke tension for many miles of trouble free service. Yes our wheels may cost a little more than others but the extra quality put into our wheels is worth it if peace of mind and value are what you seek.
