D'Alger au Congo par le Tchad. Par F. Foureau. Avec 170 figures. Paris: Masson et Cie, 1902.

Documents the Foureau-Lamy expedition across the Sahara from Algeria to conquer Chad for France; Lamy was killed in battle with a Sudanese warlord after their arrival. Numerous illustrations.

In good condition (in some ways better, but some significant issues). It is ex-library; there is a call number to the spine; the usual mess to inside front cover and front endpaper; a few small stamps and markings to the front matter. There is also amateur tape reinforcement at the hinge between the frontispiece and title page. External wear is moderate; the corners are somewhat bumped; the cover decoration is bright; the spine is moderately rubbed and faded. The pages are clean, yellowed; there is an occasional minor blemish, small edge tear. There is a partially erased pen inscription to the reverse of the first front endpaper. The binding is significantly cracked at the hinge at front and rear but remains pretty firm overall. The advertising section at rear is detached. There may be a missing endpaper at front. The map is missing.
