FEATURES:
Intro:
Primeval, a high-budget series, follows Professor Nick Cutter and
his team as they investigate anomalies in time found in the Forest
of Dean. An unfortunate side-effect of the anomalies is that
dinosaurs are moving through them and into the present time, making
the team's investigations that much more stressful. Cutter's wife
also disappears while investigating the anomalies and he makes it
his mission to find and save her.
DVD Extras:
• The Making of Primeval Series 1
• Through the Anomaly by Andrew Lee-Potts
• Cutter's Odyssey
• Genesis of a Creature
• New Dawn - Making the New Primeval
(Series Four and Five)
• Audio Commentaries
Season 1 (2007):
As series one reached its devastating conclusion Professor Nick
Cutter was having a rather bad day. And he still is. His estranged
wife Helen has deceived him; tricking him into going through the
anomalies one last time. But something has gone terribly wrong. Upon
his return to the present, the world as he knows it has changed. And
He and Helen are the only one's who know.
As series two opens Claudia Brown has never existed and the others
have no idea who she was. Can Nick convince his team that their
actions have inadvertently altered the course of nature? But he has
absolutely no idea what went wrong or how he can fix it…
Along the way Nick and his team encounter some beastly opponents
that find their way through the anomalies. From a family of raptors
going wild in the aisles of a local shopping mall, a sabre-tooth at
an amusement park, to a Woolly Mammoth holding up the traffic on the
M25, the creatures just keep on coming... |
Season 2 (2008):
When mysterious discrepancies in Britain's time/space/continuum
begin to occur, zoologist Nick Cutter and his band of assistants
begin to investigate. However, unbeknownst to the team, prehistoric
creatures have used the breakdown in time to set foot in the present
day. Featuring state-of-the-art special effects, but grounded by a
very human love story - PRIMEVAL is compelling viewing for the whole
family. |
Season 3
(2009):
Nick Cutter and most of the cast have been confirmed to return.
Stephen Hart, who was killed in the previous season, will be
returning, but, according to the creators, will make cameo
appearances in the final episodes.
|
Season 4 (2011):
It's one year on and following the death of Johnson, the ARC has
been shaken by the long-term disappearance of Abby, Connor and team
leader Danny. The government has appointed entrepreneurial-scientist
Philip Burton to take charge of the operation, with a brand new
building and new team. Ex-soldier and zoologist Matt, the highly
efficient if unconventional Jess, the mysterious Gideon and
anomaly-travelling Ethan all join the team, but are they ready for
the challenges ahead?
As Connor and Abby finally escape the terrifying creatures of the
Cretaceous to an uncertain welcome back at the ARC, Danny continues
to fight his way through a Pliocene age Rift Valley, desperate to
return to the team with a vital secret that will change their whole
outlook. With a new team and new creature threats, the ARC team are
facing their toughest challenges yet…
|
Season 5 (2011):
Back at full strength, with Abby, Connor, Lester, Jess and Matt on
board - the ARC team must race against time once again in its fight
to save the public from the terrifying creatures appearing through
the anomalies. The members encounter vicious burrowing creatures,
enormous underwater predators, a raptor on the rampage in Victorian
London; a Tyrannosaurus Rex prowling the streets and a mass of
ferocious future-beetles laying siege to the ARC Headquarters.
But even as the team faces its most formidable challenges yet, it
may have more to fear from inside the organisation. Can any of them
they trust the new lab assistant April? Why is Connor set on helping
Philip? And can Matt and Abby do anything to stop them? As secrets,
plans and betrayals come to light, it’s time for the team to decide
just whose side its on… |
