The Pentek 151254 o-ring seals the 'Big Clear' housing sump to the cap to eliminate water leaks. The strength of this rubber gasket keeps the housing sealed shut, providing you with clean water without the hassles and headaches of potential puddles, dampness or more. It is recommended that you replace your o-ring after every three filter changes, or sooner if it shows signs of damage.
