Ambient daylight is normally comprised of multiple wavelengths of light, vibrating in different planes. This Polarizing Filter Set transmits only light moving along a specific plane and increase the contrast between surfaces with different planar transmissions. Generally speaking, the polarization effect makes blue sky a deeper blue, eliminates surface reflection and helps to reduce atmospheric haze.

The Polarizing Filter Set is particularly useful for reducing glare while observing the moon, double stars, the planets and terrestrial subjects—all without affecting the color of the object being observed.

The two polarizing filters are identical and could be used as normal polarizing filter individually.

This filter set is comprised of two filters that could be thread into either an eyepiece or the filter adapter supplied with this set. When only one filter is used, you will get 30% light transmission. When both filters are used together, you can vary the degree of transmission. By varying the amount of light transmitted, the filters, in effect, become a continuously variable neutral density filter. At maximum density, the Polarizing Filter Set transmits only 5% of entering light, creating great visual effect.

The way to use the Polarizing Set: You can thread one filter into the supplied adaptor while the second filter threads into an eyepiece. The eyepiece is then rotated in the adaptor to provide variable glare reduction. It can also be used as a continuous variable-density color filter using two polarizing filters along with a color filter threaded into one of the polarizing filters.

The two filters are threaded at both ends.
