MOVIE STAR HISTORY #1: Dame Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor, DBE ~ February 27, 1932 – March 23, 2011 was a British-American actress, businesswoman and humanitarian. She began as a child actress in the early 1940s, and was one of the most popular stars of classical Hollywood cinema in the 1950s. She continued her career successfully into the 1960s, and remained a well-known public figure for the rest of her life. The American Film Institute named her the seventh greatest female screen legend in 1999.
MOVIE STAR HISTORY #2: Gene Kelly ~ August 23, 1912 – February 2, 1996 ~ was an American-Irish dancer, actor, singer, film director, producer and choreographer. He was known for his energetic and athletic dancing style, his good looks, and the likeable characters that he played on screen.
MOVIE HISTORY: That's Entertainment! is a 1974 compilation film released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer to celebrate its 50th anniversary. It was followed by two sequels and a related film called That's Dancing!. The film, compiled by its writer-producer-director, Jack Haley, Jr., under the supervision of executive producer Daniel Melnick, turned the spotlight on MGM's legacy of musical film from the 1920s through the 1950s, featuring performances from dozens of the studio's famous films. Archive footage of Judy Garland, Eleanor Powell, Lena Horne, Esther Williams, Ann Miller, Kathryn Grayson, Howard Keel, Jeanette MacDonald, Cyd Charisse, June Allyson, Clark Gable, Mario Lanza, William Warfield, and many others. The various segments were hosted by a succession of the studio's legendary stars: Frank Sinatra, Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire, Peter Lawford, Debbie Reynolds, Bing Crosby, James Stewart, Elizabeth Taylor, Mickey Rooney, Donald O'Connor and Liza Minnelli representing her mother, Judy Garland.

GELATIN SILVER BLACK & WHITE PHOTOS: This photo is an original vintage Gelatin Silver B&W. The images on B&W photos are made by the oxidation of silver grains suspended in a gelatin mix that makes up the paper emulsion. Hence the name Gelatin Silver. Gelatin Silver printing was the dominant photographic process from the period of their introduction in the 1880s until the 1960s. If the photo is an original GS B&W then it's a true VTG photograph.
